Border Crossing Requirements
- For foreigners entering Nepal: Valid passport, Nepal visa (obtainable on arrival at most crossings)
- For Indians entering Nepal: Any government-issued photo ID (passport not mandatory)
- For Nepalese entering India: No restrictions at most crossings (under 1950 treaty)
- Customs declaration: Required for valuable electronics, large amounts of currency (>$5000)
- Vehicle permits: Required for private vehicles crossing borders

- China-Nepal borders may close unexpectedly due to weather/political reasons
