Visa on Arrival (Most Common Option)
- Available at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) and all land border crossings
- Citizens of most countries are eligible (except some African nations)
- Processing time: 30-60 minutes at airport (longer during peak seasons)
- Payment accepted in USD, EUR, GBP or other major currencies (Nepalese rupees also accepted)

Free Visa Countries:
Citizens of SAARC countries (except Afghanistan) receive free visas for up to 30 days. Indian citizens do not require a visa to enter Nepal.
Required Documents for Visa on Arrival
- Passport valid for at least 6 months
- Completed arrival card (available on plane or at airport)
- Passport-size photo (can be taken at airport for small fee)
- Proof of onward travel (not always checked but recommended)
- Hotel booking or local contact details (rarely requested)
Online Application Process (Recommended)
- Fill the online form at Nepal Immigration Website
- Upload passport copy and recent photo (jpg/png, max 1MB)
- Pay visa fee by credit card (Visa/Mastercard)
- Receive receipt with barcode via email
- Print receipt and present at Visa on Arrival counter in Nepal

Other Visa Types
- Business Visa: Requires invitation letter from Nepalese company
- Student Visa: Requires admission letter from recognized institution
- Non-Tourist Visa: For volunteers, researchers, etc. (apply at embassy)
- Transit Visa: $5 for 24 hours (proof of onward ticket required)
Important Notes
- Visa on Arrival is available 24/7 at Kathmandu Airport
- Overstaying your visa incurs $5/day fine plus $25 late fee
- Maximum stay per calendar year is 150 days for tourists
- Children under 10 get free visa but still need entry stamp
- Keep your visa receipt safe - required for extension and exit
